Fiber laser engraving is one of the most reliable and efficient methods for metal engraving, especially when working with materials like brass and bronze. That’s why many laser engraving hobbyists and small business owners are curious about creating customized seal stamps—such as personalized bronze seals—for branding, crafts, or resale.

In this guide, we’ll walk through a real-world example of bronze seal engraving using the ComMarker B6 Mopa 60W fiber laser engraver, including practical settings and workflow tips that matter in actual production.

Why Fiber Laser Engraving Works Best for Metal

When it comes to laser engraving on metal, fiber lasers stand out for several reasons. First, they deliver high energy density, which allows for deeper and cleaner engravings. Second, they are extremely stable, making them ideal for long engraving jobs that require consistent results.

For materials like brass or bronze, a fiber laser engraver can achieve sharp edges, strong contrast, and sufficient depth—qualities that are essential for functional seal stamps.

Example Project: Customized Bronze Seal Engraving

To demonstrate the process, we engraved a custom bronze seal stamp featuring a lips pattern using the ComMarker B6 Mopa 60W fiber laser.

Laser Engraving Parameters Used

  • Speed: 1000 mm/s

  • Power: 95%

  • Frequency: 30 kHz

  • Pulse Width: 200 ns

  • Mode: Run continuously

With these settings, the total engraving time was approximately 2 hours. While this may sound long, it’s necessary to achieve the depth required for a usable metal seal.

Maintaining Focus During Deep Metal Engraving

One critical detail in deep metal engraving is focus control. As the engraving depth increases, the focal point changes. Therefore, during this project, we manually adjusted the focus every 30 minutes.

Specifically, we turned the adjustment knob on top of the column by about half a turn, reducing the focal distance by 0.5–1 mm each time. This ensured the laser stayed at its optimal focus throughout the entire engraving process, resulting in consistent depth and clean details.

Post-Processing for a Perfect Seal Stamp

Once the laser engraving was complete, the bronze seal went through simple post-processing steps:

  1. Water cooling to bring the metal temperature down safely

  2. Light sanding on sandpaper to smooth the surface

  3. Ink testing using red sealing ink

After these steps, the engraved lips pattern produced a bold, clean impression—resulting in a perfect customized bronze seal stamp with a striking flame-red finish.

Is Laser Engraving Bronze Seals Worth It?

For creators and small businesses, laser engraving customized seal stamps can be both creative and profitable. With the right fiber laser engraver, it’s possible to produce durable, high-quality metal seals that stand out in the market.

If you’re looking to expand into custom metal engraving, bronze seal engraving is an excellent place to start.
